Hello little Finley Adam Brooks, born Monday 26 March at 6.58pm weighing 6lb11oz, and congratulations to new mum Helen.
Helen says: “Traumatic experience in the end – was told we were going to have to have an emergency c-section with a general anaesthetic but at only 7cms the amazing consultant managed to get forceps around his head and pulled him out without cutting or tearing me!
Your breathing exercises really helped me get to 7cms at which point I wasn’t progressing very fast so took an epidural. Good job I did as shortly after his heart rate slowed right down to 50 with each contraction and the emergency procedures began. Without the epidural I would have had a general & c-section. So from being told I was going to be asleep when they were going to delivery my baby via c-section we were so lucky to have a doctor who was willing to try something to give us the best case scenario.”
